MISC:Brunei has an oil field that is 20 miles long. Over 50% of the work
force is engaged in the production of oil, natural gas, or
construction. The climate is tropical; hot, humid, and rainy. Nearly an
enclave of Malaysia, the two parts of Brunei are separated by Malaysia.
The terrain is flat coastal plain rising to mountains in the east and
hilly lowlands in the west. 79% of the land is forested, 1% is arable.
Brunei'S legal system is based on Islamic law. It became a sovereign
state and fully independent from the United Kingdom in 1984. Member
of UN.
